Rwanda is one of the East African countries that are inhabited by mountain gorillas and they can be found in the thick forests of the magnificent Volcanoes National Park. This trip will allow a visitor full exploration of the jungles of Volcanoes National Park and have encounters with the gentle giants in their natural habitat.
A visit to the gorilla guardian’s village will also equip the visitor with a deeper understanding of the gorillas in this area.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer Volcanoes National Park from Kigali city. Evening visit to gorilla guardians’ villages.
You will be picked up from the hotel in Kigali by our professional tour guide. Embark on the transfer to Volcanoes National Park which will take you about 2 hours and 56 minutes. Have a delicious lunch at the lodge on arrival at the National Park. Continue and check in to the lodge and enter your rooms, relax at the lodge in the afternoon.
At around 3:00 PM, embark on the journey to the gorilla guardians’ village where you will have deep insights into the gorilla lives, how the conservation activities on them are carried out and their goals. The activity will go on up to sunset where you will head back to the lodge and get served a mouthwatering dinner and stay for an overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking and return to Kigali
Have an early morning meal at sunrise at the lodge. After the meal, go for the briefing with the Rangers of the National Park to be told more about the rules and regulations of the gorilla tracking activity. This helps visitors not to go astray while in the jungle. Go for the tracking activity after the briefing. Trek in the dense forests of Volcanoes National Park where you’ll have the opportunity to meet the mountain gorillas and enjoy the experience with them in their natural habitat.
The activity will take about six hours full of enjoyment and learning more about mountain gorillas. In the afternoon, head back to the lodge where you will be served a scrumptious lunch. After lunch, embark on the two hours and 56-minute drive back to Kigali for departure.
