Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, twin lakes experience.
Pick up from the hotel in Kigali by a professional guide who will take you on the journey to Volcanoes National Park which is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes’ drive from Kigali. You will continue to the Twin Lakes on arrival at the park and enjoy breathtaking views of the lake.
Lunch will be served around midday. Continue exploring the lake in the afternoon as you enjoy photography and sightseeing of the nearby areas and views of the different birds that flock to these lakes. Proceed to the lodge in the evening where you will be served delicious dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Iby’iwacu cultural tour.
You will have an early morning meal at sunrise at the lodge after which they will embark on the briefing ahead of the gorilla trekking adventure. Enter the jungle to track mountain gorillas which will take you about six hours. Head back to the lodge after the activity in the afternoon for a mouthwatering lunch.
After lunch guests will transfer to Iby’iwacu cultural village for an extraordinary immersion into the Kinyarwanda culture and experience their local food. Stories about the history of Banyarwanda will be told and therefore visitors will leave with information about these beautiful people. Head back to the lodge at sunset and have yourselves served an appetizing dinner and also stay for overnight.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking tour and relaxation
After lunch guests will transfer to Iby’iwacu cultural village for an extraordinary immersion into the Kinyarwanda culture and experience their local food. Stories about the history of Banyarwanda will be told and therefore visitors will leave with information about these beautiful people. Head back to the lodge at sunset and have yourselves served an appetizing dinner and also stay overnight.
The activity will allow you to enjoy the views of the entire Virunga massif volcanoes as they interconnect with the skies and the clouds which are such breathtaking views. Head back to the lodge in the afternoon for a delicious lunch. After lunch relax in the afternoon as you enjoy the amenities of the lodge, especially the swimming pool as you view the wilderness. Dinner will be served later at sunset and you will head to your rooms for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali.
Breakfast will be served at the lodge early in the morning. After breakfast you will embark on the transfer back to Kigali which will take you approximately 3.5 hours. There will be a lunch stopover in any of the restaurants around the city. After continue with the drive to Kigali airport for departure.
