Day 1: Pickup from Kigali to Mgahinga national park in Uganda via the Cyanika boarder.
This marks the first day of your two days of gorilla trekking from Kigali, it demands you wake up early and have breakfast, and the driver will pick you up and transfer you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda through the Cyanika border. Mgahinga National Park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda second to Bwindi for hosting endangered mountain gorillas.
You can have a stopover in the nearby Kisoro town and have lunch, relax, and stretch your legs before going to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park and return to Kigali.
This marks the end of your 2 days gorilla trekking from Kigali, wake up and have an early morning before the driver transfers you Mgahinga gorilla national park headquarters to attend the pre briefing session. Under the guidance of an experienced guide, you are set into the park to search for gorillas, an activity that takes about 2 to 3 hours depending on where you will find the gorillas. Mgahinga gorilla national park has only one habituated family, that is Nyakagezi and a group of 8 trekkers will be assigned to this one gorilla family. Once you encounter the gorillas, you are given one hour to be in their presence as you watch how they feed, forage and take care of the young ones. After this tour, head back to the park headquarters, receive a certificate of participation and meet the driver who will transfer you back to Kigali.
