Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable National Park in Nkuringo gorilla sector.
Pick up from the hotel by a tourist guide with a comfortable tourist vehicle. Meet and interact with the guide and also embark on the drive to Bwindi impenetrable National Park which is approximately a 10 hours’ drive.
Have a lunch stopover at Kayabwe equator spot for the extraordinary experience at the equator and delicious local meals. Continue with the drive to Nkuringo sector. Check in at the lodge on arrival at the National Park, tour around the lodge in the evening as you view the thick forest in the vicinity of your lodge. You will be served a peachy dinner later at sunset and stay for an overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Nkuringo sector.
A mouthwatering breakfast will be served at the lodge before sunrise. After breakfast, transfer to the jungle where you will have a briefing with the game rangers to let you know about the guidelines of the trek.
Continue to the jungle for exhilarating gorilla tracking tour where you will have the opportunity to meet the habituated families therein. The activity will go on up to the afternoon where you will head back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will embark on the 18 kilometers drive to Rushaga sector and on arrival at the sector, you will sign in at the lodge facility and chill in the evening. Dinner will be served later in the sunset hours and you will stay for an overnight.
Day 3: Second gorilla trek in Rushaga sector
An early morning meal will be served at the lodge facility at around 6:00 am. After the meal you will go for a briefing where you will meet the Rangers and the conservationists of the park to let you know about the dos and don'ts while on the track. Continue to the jungle for the tracking activity that will last for about 6 hours.
Enjoy the experience of being next to these gentle giants in their natural habitat. In the afternoon transfer back to the lodge where you will be served a local dish lunch. After lunch, embark on the drive to the Batwa cultural villages where you will have cultural entertainment by the indigenous people and have them educate you about their cultures, traditions and how they are able to inhabit the dense forests. Continue to the lodge later at sunset where you will be served a mouth watering dinner and stay for an overnight.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
You will be served breakfast at dawn at the lodge. After breakfast, sign out of the lodge and ensure none of your belongings is left. Get on the drive to Kampala which is approximately 9 hours. There will be a lunch stopover at the equator point where you will be served local meals and drinks. Continue with the drive to Kampala city.
