3 days lowland gorilla trekking tour in Kahuzi-Biega National Park
Overview.
The 3 days gorilla tracking adventure has been designed to enable visitors have an exclusive experience with the lowland gorillas in their natural habitat in Kahuzi-Biega National Park. The National Park is a home to one of the oldest tropical rainforests on the African continent and is also inhabited by various other wildlife species that the visitor will have an opportunity to encounter while on the gorilla trek.
The experience of being next to the lowland gorillas is really worth the effort and so visitors should be assured of extraordinary enjoyment.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Drive from Kigali to Bukavu town
A professional tourist guide will pick you up from the hotel in Kigali or from the Airport. Embark on the transfer to Bukavu town which is approximately a six hours and 30 minutes’ drive. The drive will take you through the old towns of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo up to your hotel.
On arrival in Bukavu town, you will sign in at the hotel where they will be served a scrumptious lunch. After lunch, relax at the hotel as you enjoy the view of the city and the nearby lake Kivu. Later in the evening, at sunset you will be served a mouthwatering dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park
Be served an early morning meal at sunrise after which you will embark on the walk to the park headquarters where you will have a briefing with game rangers about the gorilla trekking activity. At around 8:00 AM, you will embark on the gorilla trekking activity in the jungle an activity that we go up to six hours depending on the speed of the trackers. Spend time with the gorillas in their natural habitat.
After the trek, transfer back to the lodge where you will be served lunch and later relax in the evening as you enjoy the amenities of the hotel especially the swimming pool that will help you relax and have a spectacular view of the entire forest. You will be served dinner at dusk and stay for an overnight.
Day 3: Bukavu town to Kigali city.
An early meal will be served to the guests at the hotel in the wee hours of the morning. Later check out of the lodge and embark on the six hours and 30 minutes’ drive to Kigali city.
