It was an awesome experience. We travelled through Uganda and Rwanda meeting smiling and friendly people and amazing animals like chimpanzees and gorillas, seeing beautiful landscapes. Donald is professional, he has extensive knowledge of the area and great communication skills. The program was interesting with several extra “surprises”. The hotels were well chosen. I would definitely travel with The African Encounters again. Donald and Duncan, thank you for your care and awesome trip 😊

For years we have been travelling and documenting remote, pristine areas of the world. Round about 80, we made our first trip to South Sudan with the African Encounters 3 years ago. Then we were so impressed that we followed Donald's advice again and, with great support from Patrick and princely catering from Bonnie, delved deeper into the tribal areas (Toposa, Yie, Boya, Lotuko, Lopit, Mundari). With the comfort of a tent and camp beds, we felt so comfortable despite the heat and exciting paths. Something incomparable was offered despite our age. An organization that we have never experienced on our numerous tours. We were on the road for 3 weeks, namely Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023. Now we are sitting over hours of footage, every minute of which is too good to be cut. And our fan community is already pushing ……….

Excellent Trip and Guide for South Sudan Tribes
Donald Champion is a fantastic guide and fixer for visiting the Mundari Tribe and Juba. He took care of everything and at every minute of the trip we felt safe and cared for. Donald's relationship with the Mundari people is certainly special. They truly have a symbiotic bond and visibly care for one another- it feels like family. We would wholeheartedly recommend Donald to anyone who is looking for that genuine and safe experience with the tribes in South Sudan and will use him again to go deeper into SS to see some of the other tribes.

Above all expectations!
It was our second trip with Donald to South Sudan, and this time the service was even better, really above all my expectations, starting the VIP meeting at the airport. The best guides, large and comfortable deluxe tents, very good chef making tasty food all along the whole route, cold drinks everywhere in that hell's heat of +40 C and above... Beside the great main program all our special requests were fulfilled, even the tough and uneven ones. I definitely recommend The African Encounters if you're going to go to a cultural trip through the unique ethnic minorities of South Sudan!

Tres semanas de goce en Uganda
Conocí a Donald Champion en enero de este año cuando fue nuestro fixer en un viaje de 2 semanas a Sudán del Sur organizado por Last Places. Me impresionó su conocimiento y manejo de un destino de difícil logística como Sudán del Sur, así como su compromiso y responsabilidad. En ese viaje comenzamos conversaciones para que organizara un viaje a Uganda para un grupo de 9 personas enfocado en la Fotografía de Naturaleza y Birdwatching para Sept-Oct de 2022. African Encounters nos organizó un viaje de 15 días por los principales Parques nacionales de Uganda y una extensión de 6 días al Territorio Karamoja y Parque Kidepo. El recorrido propuesto y la logística del viaje nos dejó completamente satisfechos. Nos buscó un par de Guías especializados en observación de aves y fauna, Stephan y Arshley, que resultaron un verdadero lujo, autoridades en el tema, sensatos, comprometidos, responsables y preocupados de resolver todas las necesidades del grupo. Terminamos el viaje por la Perla de África con nuestras expectativas más que satisfechas y encantados con un país muy atractivo con una población local de una amabilidad extrema. Un viaje de mucho aprendizaje y experiencias humanas enriquecedoras.
